Hi

My name is Dave and despite DJing for over 20 years, I only discoverd this site a week or so ago,

Started of with an Ice twin deck with a 100 watt amp and a couple of cheap speakers,

Now have a OODJ with Denon HC4500 Controller and X-500 Mixer,

My latest toy is a Nebular Laser and Quadzilla.

I am Located right in the middle of East Yorkshire, and have done everthing from someone's back garden to a nightclub in Majorca.

Enough waffle..

It was part of a hotal complex up in the north of the Island

I was only about 22 and stood in one night as the DJ hadn't turned up,

I rember the booth was the front end of a small truck,

I ended up doing 8 nights and they asked me to stay for the season!

I turned it down (I was very young)

NOW wish I had thought about it more..

Well 2018 and still here!

Now using a OOVJ with a Denon MC6000 and Yamaha speakers.

Most of my work is based around two local hotels. One of which I have a virtually have a permanent booth set up.

I have rare trips out of Driffield but very rare I go more than twenty miles from home.

Still love the job 25 years on, My passion for dealing with drunken yobs is not what is was but still have more good gigs than bad.

Wow still using a 00VJ - whatever happened to them?

My OODJ is currently in pieces in my garage as I stopped using it many moons ago when things started to break like the touch screen and USB ports rendering it pretty useless! Tried taking it apart then gave up.

I have two OOVJs and a OODJ!

I know it's  outdated stuff now but I love them.

I have upgraded the VJs by ripping out the cd drive and adding another hard drive.

The company that made them has long gone but one of the guys is still in Hull and always on hand if I have an issue.

Spares are becoming a little bit of an issue but still very stable machines

I remember being partly involved in the development of the 00VJ...still have the original drawings somewhere on a harddrive.

I was part of the launch crew at BPM.

I think our stand was next to the Void Speaker stand so was quite difficult to hear anything.

I will say the OODJ was fantastic when it came out the OOVJ was a definite upgrade but very overpriced!

all three of my machines are quite slow to boot and have the definite drawback of now internal power supply.

Any way gone of the original topic  now!!
