[Return of the Mack]

Morning all

This forum was suggested by a friend and then I realised I had signed on many moons ago.

I thought rather than just randomly starting to post out of the blue after nearly 2 years I would introduce myself.

I am part of NKRoadshow operating in the North West and beyond. We do DJ, but my colleague is a singer so we have a wider reportoire than just DJ'ing and most of our work is now singer/DJ and other stuff. We do still get out and do just DJ jobs, but not as many as we used to.

Our work is focused towards weddings and corporate, but we still do a wide range of other stuff too.

So that's me I guess.

Glad you rejoined Neil.....there are some great guys on here.


Neil and Kev have been very fortunate to choose nearly the most famous man on the planet(Micheal Buble) for their tribute act.He will have some excellent input to the Forum.Neil has a very nice day-job and some measured opinions on the business and life in general.


I'm glad he's rejoined....should be fun!!!

There seems to be so many buble tributes nowadays which is strange as buble was a tribute act himself, so basically we now have tribute acts to tribute acts!

This is a little different Colin....It comes with a really strong Disco attached to it....Good Idea....hope it doesn't take off (in a way).

I have more or less signed up to back the bands at my local club for all of (this) year(Saturdays).It was where I have always wanted to be.No more Bridezillas or Drunkards ruining my weekend!!!


Attatching yourself to somebody else entertaining has a real good feel to it for me.....the Club have loved how we have turned the evening into a full nights entertainment and the footfall has increased tremendously!!

That is our worry. There are a lot of really poor singers just pumping out Buble songs badly with no show to support it.

Ours is well rehersed and come with a proper light show to support it. Thankfully its booking well with big hotels, so that gets it out there and a solid reputation.

I am not a big fan of Buble myself (like the music, I just don't think he can cut it live that well)

I disagree. He is a brilliant performer and entertainer and has fantastic stage presence too.

Too much use of autotune on the television stuff and you just can't do what he does with a mic and get continuous level pick up as he seems to do. However, I have had this discussion in the past and it just goes in circles. Long may he continue to be around as its a nice earner for us.

Wow....its taken two years....BUT I AGREE.He has an amazing likeability factor too.My niece was one of his his backing singers on XFactor....and said he's a really nice guy!!!
